Rhulic Showcase: Solos

The Mercenary line has a really nice range of great looking, character filled models. From drunken Ogrun bokurs to penny-pinching pirates and armored bears. There’s something special for everyone. Here’s just a few models I’ve used on the regular for my Rhulic force.

Ogrun Bokur

One of the first models I painted for my Searforge Commission list, the Ogrun Bukur used to be a real bad ass back in the first edition of Warmachine. It wasn’t uncommon to see two or three of these beasts on the tabletop at once. Since then however, they’ve become a lot less powerful but still make for a great centerpiece.

Gudrun the Wanderer

Gudrun was a real treat to paint. He’s a drunken Ogrun whose taste for the juice is only paralleled by his taste for ass kickery. You can almost smell his boozy breath from here. Wash yo mouth sucka!

Arquebus Jonne

The character unit Herne & Jonne go together like Bieber and hair gel. Originally, Herne had no beard but I couldn’t stand the cleft chin. It was ridiculous! So I went at it with some sculpting putty and gave him a nice distinguished beard any gentleman would be proud of.

Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator

Once in a while I’ll paint a model that makes me feel all happy inside. This is one of those models. The simple palette and exaggerated, cartoon-like features made it a breeze to paint in a couple of hours. Quick and clean that’s how I like it. 🙂

Rhulic_SoloRockbottom
Lord Rockbottom

I made this conversion using an Iron Kingdoms RPG model and the original Lord Rockbottom. First I made a replica of the original Rockbottom’s belt and arms using sculpting putty (green stuff) and glued it onto the IKRPG model. Then I touched up the shoulders and collar using more green stuff. The coin in his hand was made using plasticard and a hole punch . Much better than the original goofy hat, peg leg version.

Rhulic_SoloThor
Thor Steinhammer

This fella right here is an auto include whenever I play with this army. He provides excellent boosts to my warjacks and he looks bad ass! What more can a painter/gamer ask for?

So there you have it folks, my most prized Rhulic possessions. I may loose a lot of games with them but damn it, I look good doing it. Cheers and keep painting!
